It all started 20th September 1969 when a semi excited 9 year old was taken to Brighton v Barrow (2-0) by his dad as a test to see if he had the ability to concentrate for 90 minutes in anticipation of a much bigger challenge later in the year ( spoiler alert : I failed that test really but I was lucky I took my 1968-69 Playfair Football annual to get me through the 90 minutes before)
